Weekly Recap

It's funny to think you never do anything until you sit down for a moment and reflect on the week that passed.  For me reflecting on the week kind of grounds me.  It helps me know that I did actually do something.  Maybe got to do something I wanted too, alone time happened even if it was momentary or I accomplished a goal or task.

We went to a fall festival.  Nothing is better  then games, ponies, bounce house, rides candy and snowcones free! Perfect weather was just a bonus!

We also started our week off with a stop at a local museum.  The were celebrating 50 years!  Even though we missed the cake we saw plenty of animals and dinosaurs!

My 2nd official mammogram went better then the first.  Read more of that story here.  I had the mammogram reading then a few days later I met to receive the results.  I received a clean bill of health for this visit.  I will tell you when you have a scare you look at life differently.  It's a frightening experience.  I have never found that peace of mind again.

I made dinner at home 3 days this week as one night was dinner out.
Tuesday was salmon.
Wednesday was breakfast (pancakes).
Thursday was pulled pork tacos from the crockpot.

Did you catch our crafts this week? A turkey here and a turkey there.

I'm still reading this book.

Next book is.

My workout has gone pretty good.  I have been working out regularly.  I haven't gone to the gym everyday but between cardio and the gym; I have rode and ran 4 days this week!

I was even thrilled hen I told myself to keep riding one day and made it almost 13 miles!

I have big plans this weekend and I can't wait to share them with you! Stay tuned!

Weekly recap

This week was pretty laid back in a few areas more so then others.

Little man didn't have preschool this week as the public school was out 3 of the 5 days so there was too much activity going on to ever get his focus.

I actually only cooked two meals this week.
DeconstructedChicken Potpie and Chicken Fried Rice.

I cashed in one receipt for free lunch at Chick Fil A and will use my remaining one this weekend.

Different times of year they offer a promotion to buy food one day and bring the receipt back the next month for the same meal free!

We spent a family night bouncing around at our local trampoline park.  Pay one price and your whole family jumps which is better then the per person rate.

I finally finished one book.

Then started another.

Even found time to hit the gym regularly this week which was a great accomplishment and overall gave me a better feeling!

Cardio and weights does a body good!

The rest of my weekend is going to amount  to low key activities and random fun.  How was your week?  What will you be doing this weekend?

Weekly recap

The week started out with eagerness and excitement as it was Halloween.  On my hands I had a ninja and Moana (the Hawaiian Princess).  Guess you know movie we will be seeing at the end of the month.

We visited a few trunk or treats.

 Then a fall festival.

I like attending the fall festivals.  The kids have so much fun with the games and bounce houses.  This one even had  petting farm and pony rides!

Enter my first trip to the corn maze.  Wow, how have I missed out on this?  I believe running atleast 2 miles chasing kids was the best cardio ever!

Little man worked on letter G throughout the week.

He learned it was for garage and golf

We took advantage of kids eat free on Halloween for dinner and our dinner winner of the week was breakfast for dinner.
        Corn Beef Hash Huevos Rancheros

Made a blanket for children in hospice with the mops group I'm in.  Now is the time to help out where you can. It's not always about financial donations. Think of what else you can do?

My book club met at a cute tea shop to go over last month's book.  I think this was my second favorite of the week.

My kids on the other hand despite of the candy may think that catching a movie was the best!

I don't anticipate the upcoming week to be as busy and that is ok by me.  Sometimes it's nice to stay home and put your feet up.

How was your week?  Did you get out to catch a movie? Or dinner out?  Do you still have candy?  We do because I hide it and eventually the inquiry for candy stops coming.

Weekly Recap 10/9

Well I'm grateful the week ended better then it began.  A week ago hurricane Matthew was head up the coast, and then he wasn't.  We received a ton of rain and lost power.  Thankfully we had a birthday to celebrate which gave us more of an excuse to use candles.

I was able to finish one book, complete my new book club book and start on a new one!

The weekly menu was a success with 1 new recipe.

Spinach Ricotta Rotolo

School for little man was hit and miss this week due to errands and appointments on multiple days.  So I will pick that back up next week.

2 crafts in one week compliments of the Dollar Store.

Completed the week with a movie!

I am grateful for having found time for myself as well as trying new things.  I look forward to what is in store for me next week because you know even when you plan, something unexpected always happens.

That's a wrap! (Weekly recap)

This week is over in a whirlwind of a hurry.  Starting with the same weekend Christmas was ending, throwing New Year's Eve in the mix and wrapping up the end of the week with my birthday.

I can't even sit back and pretend I didn't do anything just based on those days alone.
However I have spent time reading, organizing the blog post for the month, coordinating other schedules for the month, setting objectives and various goals as well as I think relaxing somewhere.

  Rewind my week:

Received my voxbox from Influenster!  Keep an eye out for the unboxing!

Caught a matinee showing of Sisters!

Finished last book of 2015 and actually jumped right into another one!

Earned some crutches to go with my orthopedic boot for my slowly healing stress fracture.  I am even getting pretty speedy on them if I do say so myself!

Visited Colonial Williamsburg for the last time of the year and was lucky enough to catch an evening show.

I guess that's a wrap.  Can't say I didn't do anything! Plan is to stay busy!  Stay positive! Live life and enjoy it at least a little.
