This week is going to showcase my dinners from the last week or two! I didn't use to make "real" food for my family. I cooked what I knew and repeatedly cooked only that such as spaghetti or baked pork chop and potatoes and boxed food. I never tried new recipes and everything was meat.
I have come along way between using my food processor, spiralizer recently and the slow cooker.
I now cook from my pantry and grocery shop every few weeks. I incorporate meatless meals into each week and serve salads and soups as a meal! My family likes the variety and my skills just improve along with my confidence daily!
Pesto Pasta with Sausage
Caprese Quinoa Bake
Shrimp Fried Rice
Fiesta Ranch Chicken Pasta
Garlic Zucchini Pasta
Shrimp with Couscous
Recipes for the above dishes can be found under my weekly menus. Do you enjoy cooking? What's the one dish your proud of making?
Ooo everything looks fantastic! No, I hate to cook, but I LOVE to eat! I force myself to cook though, otherwise my family would not eat.
ReplyDeleteohhh all this food makes me soo hungry haha.. looks very delicious! i am such an seafood lover!
ReplyDeleteOh I am drooling right now! I really want to make the shrimp with couscous this weekend!
ReplyDeleteGees that was super good. I have refrained from making it again after I bought another bag of shrimp. Maybe one month I should do my favorites.
DeleteGood on you for all the cooking you have been doing. I have gone in the opposite direction - I used to cook often but no wI just get food from Whole Foods or a salad from a local restaurant. Haha!

Love the variety of all the dishes! Even the pasta dishes have their own distinct character. I'm trying to get more into cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, so I'll definitely be trying your quinoa bake
ReplyDeleteMmm everything looks so good- love sloppie joes but I've never made them without meat. I'll have to give it a try! Love the shrimp fried rice.
ReplyDeleteMmm....dinner at your house looks scrumptious! I'd love to try the shrimp with couscous. Delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love to cook, but I don't get to go all out with having young kids around needing food NOW and not wanting to let me take time to prep. We have a weekly taco Tuesday night and mix things up from meats to beans to different toppings.
ReplyDeleteMy little ones are extremely picky and somehow live off ramen noodles, pb and j,salad and sometimes hotdogs. I beg every night for them to try dinner.
DeleteLooks like a great menu for the week. I'd defiantly be interested in that meatless sloppy joes recipe. I've been looking for a good one for a while now :D
ReplyDeleteYou made me remember that I have a spiralizer in the cupboard above my fridge that is unopened! I need to make that zucchini dish.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I got mine last year. I tried it and it didn't work so I put it back in the cupboard. Pulled it out for this and somehow or had more patience it worked!!
DeleteI do not enjoy cooking as much as baking. But I am willing to try new recipe! I'll check your list and try it :)
ReplyDeleteI like baking but that's not good for my sweet tooth!
DeleteI can't cook to save my life. However, this should be an inspiration. I love the looks of the pesto pasta and shrimp with couscous. Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteoooh all those dish look super yum! I love cooking but rarely have the time...
ReplyDeleteCouscous use to be my favorite all time meal for brekkie !!! I always asked my mom to add some meat to it as meat makes anything and everything taste good. This is interesting adding prawns or shrimps to it !! Definitely trying this !!!
ReplyDeleteI love food and like seeing different dishes. I am so busy with work then home in the evening I cannot cook all the time.
ReplyDeleteAll these dishes look delicious! I really want to try the Garlic Zucchini Pasta.
ReplyDeleteThe zucchini pasta has my full attention! I'd add some chicken or salmon to it for sure!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! I also used to not be super domestic, haha, but now cook for my family all the time and love it! (Mostly ;) )
ReplyDeleteMostly, because if some one else did it and cleaned the kitchen afterwards that would be so much better.
DeleteI enjoy cooking .But not too much of it .It has to be spaced out and I need help with prepping
ReplyDeleteYou eat like I need to eat. In my house we eat brown rice and brown rice pasta. I love spaghetti squash and zucchini but my family doesn't. You've inspired me to try again with them. I've never had couscous, but I love quinoa.
ReplyDeleteOddly as picky as my 6 yo is she eats both quinoa and couscous. Squash and zucchini is my favorite. If I had a garden that's all that I would need.
DeleteTo be honest, everything looks super good. I am a creative person usually except when it comes to cooking. I always eat the same things ahah
ReplyDeleteI love these recipes. I would love to try the meatless sloppy joes. Beef hurts my tummy.
ReplyDeleteWe are OK with beef but I don't use it a lot. We substitute ground turkey for everything. Tacos, spaghetti, meatloaf etc.
DeleteAll of these meals look so delicious!! I haven't had sloppy joes in forever... yum!
ReplyDeleteYum! I'm coming over. :) I like the idea of using Meatless Mondays-way to save money!
ReplyDeleteMeatless is definitely cheaper then any meat whether it's a can of beans, corn chowder or zucchini noodles!
DeleteI enjoy cooking and the shrimp fried rice looks so good. My family is such a seafood lover.
ReplyDeleteAll the meals look delicious especially the shrimp friend rice I am a sucker for it.
ReplyDeleteYour meals look delish! I love that you made them all. I too like making homemade meals for my family. Homemade beats take-out and store bought meals any day because it's healthier for or bodies and easier on our pockets.
ReplyDeleteAm drooling right now lol. these pictures made me hungry . I love homemade food too and love to try new things at home
ReplyDeletethese made me hungry, I wanna try the sloppy joes!

ReplyDeleteIts seriusoly yummy ! I can't cook like this ! You are a wonder women
ReplyDeleteI feel like I have been in a cooking rut recently too. I usually go for anything I can fry in a skillet. I add some rice and veggies together, for example. I have been thinking recently about how I need to change that.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see that you have variety of meals for each day.Pasta dishes look delicious.i also like the fried rice.
ReplyDeleteI wish I also have so much time to do the same. Very good job on these. Truly, satisfying our family with great food is one noble job.
