Let's Play Ball!

Summer is almost here and so are all the summer camp options.  My kids have not played any sports yet for teams and I'm  OK with that.  They are little and as much as I like watching little kids play, I just haven't committed myself to shuttling 2 kids to various activities.

I am about to taking advantage of the best of both worlds.  A weekly soccer camp that I only need to shuttle to once with both of my kids!

Plus being elementary school age I think they are old enough to listen, pay attention and follow directions and this week long camp will reinforce the fundamentals on a daily basis.

These British Soccer Camps offer camps all over North America and their curriculum makes them the most popular.

Check for a location near you here!

They aim to teach the kids, increase confidence and enforce proper character development.  I love the sounds of this because I don't just want them to learn to play.  I want a full circle experience.  Kids need to learn how to play, how to win or lose and how to conduct themselves.

Register for this great opportunity now and receive a FREE British Soccer Game jersey with code BSC18.

It's OK (by me)

It's that time again. A time to reflect on what we did a little less then perfect but, who cares!  Shake it off! It's ok! I'm going to play along with airingmylaundry today as I tell you what items/events/activities are OK by me.

Check out her latest post here.

This week I'm OK that I missed the Oscar's.  Whether the movie won an award or the actor or actress won I will see it if it interests me.

Im OK that it has rained here for days, and when the sun comes up its cold.  This is March just making a statement.  I'm happy the flowers are hanging in there!

I'm OK that after filling out several applications for a job I will be lucky if one person calls but, that just means the other jobs were not meant to be.

I'm OK that the new book I'm reading #Girlboss is better then I thought! I don't have the desire to be my own boss but her words are motivating beyond that title.  She offers encouragement to think more of yourself and do more with yourself.

I'm OK that the scale has not changed in regards to my weight because I can see the fit of my clothes is better. My muscle tone is increasing and my but has got a couple compliments too!

First full week of March! New month! Almost spring!  What are you OK with?

Monday Motivation (breakfast mealplan)

Let's do another week of breakfast.  Breakfast meal plans are super easy for me.  I usually have all the ingredients for multiple meals, it's one meal that is appreciated by everyone in the house and I like the start of a new day.

Monday: pancakes
https://pocketchangegourmet.com/old-fashioned-homemade-pancakes/

Tuesday: eggs and toast
No recipe necessary! Just keeping it simple. I would even make an omelet but, the little people won't eat that.

Wednesday: muffins
https://www.craftsy.com/cake-decorating/article/carrot-cake-muffins/

Thursday: coffee cake
This recipe is from my recipe box and doesn't use the Bisquick mix I have seen posted.  It used flour.

Friday: donuts

There you go! That's what will be starting our mornings with! What is your morning plan?

Week 9 Recap and New Goals

Grab your drink of choice and start your to do list for the week!

Last weeks goals were not that difficult so why did I not succeed?

Because life happens and sometimes you just forget. You live in the moment and do something at hand. So let's try again.

1.  Freezer wasn't done last week so I'll roll it onto this week.  It's not really dirty as much as I want to get the ice build up removed.

2.  I didn't get any outside cardio time in.  I still hit the gym and exercised on some indoor cardio but I didn't get any fresh air.

3. I did finish book 5. Finally!  So on to number 6!

4.  I don't have a current dinner mealplan ready yet but, another breakfast mealplan is ready and will be posted tomorrow.

The crepes I made were a hit with the family!

I am extra motivated after a few good things happening last week and carrying over into this week.  Good luck to everyone else on your upcoming week.

Family Fun (free day)

Family fun can happen anywhere.  It just has to be 1) an activity or event be done with 2) family.

Even a day out can be all about the family.  I checked out and planned my day for the kids today.  Free is always a nice thing so I definitely utilized that as my entertainment today!

Today we started out with our favorite once a month activity!

The kids workshop at Homedepot!  The project was a periscope.  I will admit I had to remove a few nails with this project.  Precise nailing was most important today.

After that we made our way to Target!  Did you know they were celebrating Dr. Suess at some locations?  Lucky for us, our location was one of them.

The kids received some fun activity sheets, sat in some very comfy chairs and heard the story Green Eggs and Ham.

After this a small walk to celebrate 30 years was our next destination.

Happy Birthday AuntieAnnes! We enjoyed celebrating with you!

I not going to ask what the favorite activity of the day was because all I want to hear is spending time together and that may or may not be the answer.

Either way everyone got out of the house, created, ate and even got a dose of enrichment, and imagination from the Dr.  I would say it was a good day.  Bring on Sunday because it is the day of rest and relax.

Happy Easter book (review and giveaway)

Easter will be here soon and I'm usually a little more prepared for this celebration then most other holidays!  In our house we give a combination of candy, and non-edible items such as chalk in the Easter baskets.  This book fits perfectly into that option if you also give gifts.  Keep reading because after the review you will get a chance to participate in a giveaway for this book!

A Very Happy Easter Prayer book by Bonnie Rickner Jensen would be a great addition to your Easter gifts.  This board book is perfect for children.  It's full of bright, fun pages and the sparkle on the cover is a great invitation for kids to open and explore the pages.

Each page is filled with animals playing in various springtime images.  The animals are enjoying nature and what's around them now that the snow and cold weather is gone.  Think of picnics, puddle jumping and busy bees.

Each page has a short easy to read passage for beginner readers to read themselves.  The rhyming passages are fun and circle around birds chattering, frogs and flowers.

You can interact with your kids on each page no matter the age.  What animals do they see?  How many caterpillars?  What color is the picnic blanket?

This book will delight children on Easter morning!  What better way to start the morning with candy munching and book reading.

Lucky for you! You now get the chance to win your own book! Enter here for this giveaway!

I was provided this book complimentary for review purposes.  All opinions are my own.

It's OK (by me)

It's that time again. A time to reflect on what we did a little less then perfect but, who cares!  Shake it off! It's ok! I'm going to play along with airingmylaundry today as I tell you what items/events/activities are OK by me.

Check out her latest post here.

It's OK that I watched all the episodes of Celebrity Big Brothers.  I was team Ross but, I didn't lose sleep over it.

It's OK that I guess I have started in on a new reality show because I watched the new Survivor last night.

It's OK I made some really good breakfast meals (muffins, crepes, oatmeal) this week and my son has eaten cereal everyday.

It's OK that I'm excited to see the unseen Roseanne episodes.  I liked watching those episodes and am looking forward to the laughs!

Its OK that I have taken tonight off because the kids get daddy time.

What are you OK with this week?  Do you watch reality shows?  What was you favorite show growing up?
