Motivation Monday
A little motivation for your week is a Monday off!
We didn't get to a service day event but, if you did I would love to hear about it.
Each year I set goals to volunteer. I bring my family. I go by myself too but, all that matters is that it gets done.
Do you volunteer? Alone with family a group or even your church?
I have volunteered with organization's and for organizations and plan to continue that this year.
I will volunteer or donate to local organizations with my family, with the kids and by myself.
Areas I plan on volunteering with in my local area are:
1. Red Cross
2. Ronald McDonald House
3. Edmarc
4. ASPCA
5. Roc Solid
6. Foodbank
7. Meals on Wheels
8. Salvation Army
9. Soup kitchen
10. Military
Volunteering doesn't always include monetary contributions. It also includes donations.
You can donate clothes, books and household items.
You can collect hats, scarves, socks and coats!
Assembling boxes for the military or operation shoebox.
However don't limit yourself to staying inside the box. Random acts of kindness are just as good. Paying for someones coffee! Cookies to your fire department! Or even cards to nursing home residents!
My goal in the area of volunteering is to do something every month.

I used to volunteer so much. But since living in the states I haven't done any! I really need to go and get out there again. So awesome you volunteer at so many amazing places.
ReplyDeleteAfter my sister's accident, I have tried to volunteer at different places. I have realized life is too short to hate. This year my moto in life is to keep "kind" alive in man kind.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great moto! I'm happy to be able to and it doesn't cost me anything but I'm still helping.
DeleteThere is nothing more rewarding and fulfilling than volunteering. I continuously volunteer my time to help others.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list! I need to start volunteering more with my children. I think it's so important to help others. We do donate quite a bit!
ReplyDeleteThis is so amazing of you! I quite often donate things but I would really love to volunteer my time as well somewhere in need this year.
ReplyDeleteI need to do something like this, volunteering is always nice mostly in the community to know what around and what's there to offer.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! We did a street clean up last week with the kiddies. Before that, we participated in a few giving trees for Christmas. We also participate in back-to-school activities. Being aware of the opportunities, I know I could do much more than I am.
ReplyDeleteWhat great ideas for volunteering, I would love for daughter to participate with volunteering.
ReplyDeleteI volunteer with various local organisations here. It is food for my sould!
ReplyDeleteI believe that if we have the time and money to give back to our community, we should definitely give back. We can always do more for the community that we like in and we can make a difference if we try.
ReplyDeleteThat is some great work. Kudos to you and keep it up.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job! Volunteering is such an important way to give back to your local community! You definitely motivate me to get out there and be of service to others!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful goal to have! Volunteering is so important. Great way to give back to the community.
ReplyDeleteOh wow what some amazing places it sounds like you are looking to volunteer this year. I used to do a lot of volunteering but I don't anymore, sadly I would be more of a hindrance these days with my health which is a shame.
ReplyDeleteI have been volunteering once in my life. I was living in New Zealand back then and did some beach cleaning. I was very rewarding and i met amazing people! i should do it again!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I think volunteering is such a feel good thing to do but also so worthwhile. It's so rewarding!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great thing to do! I used to volunteer so much, but now with my new job it is so hard to find the time.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a good idea. We should all volunteer and help those in need in our community. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent goal for this year, and every year, and all of them great ideas! I'd love to help out more with animal shelters, especially working with cats!
ReplyDeleteThese are all great charities and organizations to donate time and money too. I need to do more this year!

I am so glad I came across this! I would love to volunteer more this year. This is an amazing starting point.
ReplyDeleteI used to volunteer so much before I had my son, but unfortunately, a lot of places do not allow preschoolers to volunteer with you. When he gets older we will more!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post and list of places you can volunteer. I love and believe in giving back. I've volunteer and it's a very rewarding experience. Something our kids will appreciate for sure.
ReplyDeleteSo true! I donate clothes, accessories and toys each year in spring and I'm a blood donor!
ReplyDeleteI think donating clothes, books and household items is a good thing to do. I hope to do this activity soon.
ReplyDeleteThat is so wonderful that you are going to volunteer every month!! My husband and I are trying to make a better effort to get out and volunteer more often!
ReplyDeleteGiving is such an amazing and beautiful thing. I really need to be doing it more. Show that example to my daughter. And volunteering can be a great way to do that.
ReplyDeleteThat was such a good read. Volunteering is definitely important, also so much fun:) I also donate clothes every year
ReplyDeleteVolunteering is such an excellent way to giveback. I belonged to a Random Acts of Kindness group in college and we'd do a lot of volunteer work. It was always super rewarding.
ReplyDeleteWe really do try to get involved at church whether its simply attending fundraisers and events, or setting up meals for impoverished families and trying to volunteer time at soup kitchens. I'm personally trying to help more organizations, especially for animals.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed reading this post! Although there's not many positive things going in life, I always try to remain positive by helping others because who knows if they're going thru more than me. I'm going to check out the other organizations that you suggested!
ReplyDeleteI love volunteering. I have been doing a lot of donating to different charities. As a teacher I am also making sure that my own students have their basic needs met.
ReplyDeleteSounds great! I have volunteered before but I got busy and didn't have a chance yet. I would love to volunteer again especially to organizations that supports babies or abused women.
ReplyDeleteYour goal to volunteer is great! Check what organizations are local to you as well!
ReplyDeleteVolunteering is a great way to give back to the community. There are many wonderful organizations out there that benefit from people helping out. Plus volunteering makes you feel good.
