Holiday Decorations

Are you decorations still up?  From last years Christmas?  Does that make it seem like so long ago now?  Mine are but they are slowly being packed away.

Gone are the ornaments all pretty and diverse.

Gone are the lights and twinkling star.

Gone is the skirt around the tree.  What is that for anyways?  You cover it full of presents.

Gone are the wreaths that I made this year including  one I didn't show you!  It was really easy to make along with the rest.

A Santa wreath!

All you need are these items plus some glue! I picked up everything at the dollar store too so that's $3 plus your glue.  Assemble as the picture above.  The hat is glued at the side to stay on. The white cotton is called glitter drape and o picked out the glitter.  Fluffed it up and ripped it in some strips for more definition and texture.  Glued it all together and Santa is born!

Then there is the gaping hole.  Waiting for us to make the room complete again.

Christmas is over all the lights, music and decorations go back in storage for another several months.  It's rather sad to put the fun in a box but it will be back, it always comes back.

Have you taken care of your items yet?  Usually mine stay up till my birthday then get packed away.  Are you ready for Valentines Day?  Do you decorate for that?  What is your favorite holiday to decorate for?

  1. Yup, I put everything away on the 1st! I do miss the tree though.

I have a little bit of decorations for Valentine's Day but not as many.

  2. I still have all my decorations up, including my tree! I am not so much a procrastinator as much as a person who is just wholeheartedly obsessed with Christmas and refuses to believe its over!

    1. I think we may decorate a little bit for Valentines Day and it will fill that holiday void.

  5. We took our tree and other decorations down a few days after Christmas. Our wreath, however, is still up until I replace it with my Valentine's Day Wreath :)

  6. I don't celebrate Christmas or any of the other holidays mentioned due to my personal beliefs. So this is not something I have to be concerned about. But rest assured, I deck out the house, the dinner table, and everything else whenever we have family gatherings throughout the year. I love it.

    1. Less storage you have to worry about that's for sure. I swear sometimes it just seems like so much work and really for what? My mom doesn't decorate anymore unless her kids or grandkids are coming but, I get that just can't get away with it due to the kids expecting it.

  10. Well, epiphany is tomorrow, so maybe I'll start working on deconstructing this weekend! My son's birthday is February 4 so everything has to be put away by then!
