Clairol Root Touch-Up Vox Box

I am a part of the Influenster community.  As part of this community I am chosen periodically for different testing experiences.  Some products I am aware of and others offer a new experience.

You get random surveys and answer periodic questions and you are selected to try different items and be a part of the promotion, reviews and testing.

I was selected for the Clairol Root Touch-Up VoxBox campaign.  In this campaign I was mailed a Clairol Temporary Root Touch-Up concealing powder.  In the color black based on my preference and answers I provided.

The powder comes in a perfect slender compact with a mirror and brush.  The brush is about 4 inches long so that provides enough of a grip for reaching all spots on your head.

Of course since it is powder this  touch-up is temporary but, it's so easy to use!  Leave it in your purpose to touch up a rogue hair that appeared just before your dinner plans!    The brush makes application super easy.  No dyes, scents or stains on your towels!

I think this is a great alternative to the more permanent solution especially if you have a small area or just a few grey hairs.

                        Before.             After

I was able to cover up all the grey roots on up that I saw!  It was easy to apply the powder to each hair that I saw.  I was confident that the blend was perfect as well.

Do you color your hair? Do you treat grey hair?  Would you consider a quick, temporary fix versus a longer lasting product?

In disclosure I did receive this product complimentary and all opinions are honest and my own.

Top 5 Girls Hairstyles Roundup

My daughter has such pretty hair and although I give her ponytails, and braids I want to do more with it.  It's fairly thin compared to my thick hair and looks amazing even when she wakes up without brushing it.

Someone had posted about learning something new each month and learning to do new hairstyles was one of them.  I thought that was a great idea in regards to my child. Maybe I'll even figure something out for myself but not right now.

However for right now I am sharing some hairstyles from Pinterest to help get the creativity juices flowing.  I selected ones I thought were easy or manageable to do.

This one must be as easy as it looks because it doesn't even have instructions!

This one provided a great you tube video but it's basic braids made into a bun and I have made buns before and braids so I think I got this one!

The Chignon

The Chignon looks easy enough if I have a bun mastered.  I hope this is the hardest one I have to pull off.  Does it matter the length of the hair I wonder?

I like the look of this one and even though the video looks easy enough I think it will be a challenge.  It's such a fun luck though.  If I complete it and the child at least pulls it off for a couple hours before she rubs her head on a blanket or jumps it out I will be happy!

Lastly the bow.  I have done this one before so a second time shouldn't be a problem.  It's also another cute look that I like.

Ok let's see how this works out.  Challenge is good and change is sometimes ok.  I look forward to trying some of these hairstyles on my daughter and I know she will like them too.

Do you plan on learning something new this year or month?  Do you change your hairstyle?

Dry Hair Clean Hair (review)

I was recently tried out TRESemme Dry Shampoo and can honestly say it was a first experience for me but something I was very curious about.

My Fresh Start TRESemme Dry Shampoo is a new formula.  It is an aerosol can and is 5.3 ounces.  This shampoo boasts of refresh and revived hair and I agree that it does!

The basis of a dry shampoo is to clean your hair allowing you to feel fresh without the use of water.  This would make your hair washing experience quicker.  No more waiting for it to dry before styling.

Directions are printed on the side of the can and are easy to follow.  Shake, spray towards roots, massage and comb.  My first impression comes from the amazing smell.  That alone makes me want to use it often.  I sprayed my roots per the direction and was alarmed at the color on my dark hair but after I massaged it in it was not visible any more.

After I used the spray you can visibly see the oil has been absorbed.  Your hair smells better and there is an overall more clean appeal to your hair.  Even the next day my hair was soft and still smelled good.

I was provided this product complimentary my testing purposes and all opinions are my own.

January's Target Beauty Box

Last year I decided I would check out subscription boxes this year and other random boxes.  So for my first box of the year I decided to start with the +Target beauty box.  This box gets sold out rather quickly so you need to keep an eye out for it and purchase it as soon as you find out.

The box comes out a few times a year and  ranges from $7-$10.  This month there were two choices.

     Target Refresh Beauty Box

Target Renewal Beauty Box

I choose the Renewal Beauty Box.  It came with 9 items and the box retailed for about $30 and had a variety of full size as well as samples and deluxe size products.

The box contained a variety of items for your hair, skin and face.

A closer look:

A full size Degree anti-perspirant spray in Fresh Energy scent.

A 2 oz of Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer and a 1.8 oz Caress Love Forever Body Wash.

Makeup and face care included:  Revlon color 501 Black, Hada Labo Tokyo Anti-Aging Facial Mask, Laneige BB cushion in 3 skin tones.

Attitude shampoo and a 2 in 1 Shampoo and Body Wash, Scunci No Slip Grip headwrap

Lastly is a $3 coupon off a $15 beauty purchase!

I have seen many subscription boxes with a lot of variations but with all the Target beauty boxes with an exception of the color of the headwrap all products were the same.

I am pleased with the contents of the box and will use everything in it.  I look forward to more boxes and trying new products I haven't tried yet and finding new things that might work better than what I'm currently using.

Weekly Recap

This week I am pretty pleased with my week.  All 4 planned meals were a success.  Although only one of them was a new recipe for me to try there's nothing wrong with that.  We still ate at home and used the pantry as a resource!

Chicken Potpie

Stuffed Shells

Blackbean Bugers

 Falafel and Couscous

I even actually had the teenager make all the meals this week.  This provided her with a first time using the food processor as well as frying.

I saw the Star Wars movie this week.  Of course going now allowed me to select any seat I wanted except 3 as that's how many other people were in there with me!  It was interesting. I definitely wasn't bored.  I was entertained through the duration and love any scene where there's a girl kicking butt!  I left once for popcorn which sometimes I use as an indicator of the movie but not this time.  I need to go back and watch the other movies though so I can get caught up in my mind. Not knowing/remembering about the others leaves a big gap.

I made a few projects this week both by myself and a craft with the kids.  This keeps me on track for my overall goal for the year.  Along with I did try a new hairstyle but I'll show you at the end of the month when we have met our goal.

Exercise was not met by a day.  Water is a conscious effort! My followers on other social platforms grows a little everyday.

I even managed to get caught up (ignoring present book) on an old book I needed to review!

So as its Saturday; it's time to make a new weekly goal!

January Goals

Sometimes I find it easier to write my goals down so I can keep track of them.  You know keep track of the ones I need to carry over to the next month because I never completed it in the 30 days I told myself too.

Well but just like they teach you in school. Try and try again.

1. Unveil my voxbox from Influenster  (tomorrow keep an eye out)

2. Increase my followers on instagram and twitter! (Without sharing a number with you) You of course are more than invited to follow me.  I post more regularly on those platforms.

3.  I have several books to read this month (7) (3 are physical library books).  If I get all those read I will be happy.

4. Share a new meal plan with you every week. ( 1 week down)

5.  Post at least 2 you tube videos!

6.  Complete 4 DIY projects!

7.  Exercise although very modified (less the cardio) 3-4 times a week.  (As of this week it's only been once)

8.  Create 4 crafts with my kids! They will greatly appreciate this!

9.  I need to drink more water 9 glasses a day is my focus!

10.  Practice hairstyles and nail designs. (I have 3 girls this is almost a necessity)

Ok there it is. 10 goals for me to complete for the month of January.   I feel so much better making a list.  A lot of them I can post so you can watch my progress or lack thereof.  Wish me luck and if you have any goals you need motivation with let me know!
