Clairol Root Touch-Up Vox Box

I am a part of the Influenster community.  As part of this community I am chosen periodically for different testing experiences.  Some products I am aware of and others offer a new experience.

You get random surveys and answer periodic questions and you are selected to try different items and be a part of the promotion, reviews and testing.

I was selected for the Clairol Root Touch-Up VoxBox campaign.  In this campaign I was mailed a Clairol Temporary Root Touch-Up concealing powder.  In the color black based on my preference and answers I provided.

The powder comes in a perfect slender compact with a mirror and brush.  The brush is about 4 inches long so that provides enough of a grip for reaching all spots on your head.

Of course since it is powder this  touch-up is temporary but, it's so easy to use!  Leave it in your purpose to touch up a rogue hair that appeared just before your dinner plans!    The brush makes application super easy.  No dyes, scents or stains on your towels!

I think this is a great alternative to the more permanent solution especially if you have a small area or just a few grey hairs.

                        Before.             After

I was able to cover up all the grey roots on up that I saw!  It was easy to apply the powder to each hair that I saw.  I was confident that the blend was perfect as well.

Do you color your hair? Do you treat grey hair?  Would you consider a quick, temporary fix versus a longer lasting product?

In disclosure I did receive this product complimentary and all opinions are honest and my own.

Dry Hair Clean Hair (review)

I was recently tried out TRESemme Dry Shampoo and can honestly say it was a first experience for me but something I was very curious about.

My Fresh Start TRESemme Dry Shampoo is a new formula.  It is an aerosol can and is 5.3 ounces.  This shampoo boasts of refresh and revived hair and I agree that it does!

The basis of a dry shampoo is to clean your hair allowing you to feel fresh without the use of water.  This would make your hair washing experience quicker.  No more waiting for it to dry before styling.

Directions are printed on the side of the can and are easy to follow.  Shake, spray towards roots, massage and comb.  My first impression comes from the amazing smell.  That alone makes me want to use it often.  I sprayed my roots per the direction and was alarmed at the color on my dark hair but after I massaged it in it was not visible any more.

After I used the spray you can visibly see the oil has been absorbed.  Your hair smells better and there is an overall more clean appeal to your hair.  Even the next day my hair was soft and still smelled good.

I was provided this product complimentary my testing purposes and all opinions are my own.

ZzzQuil VoxBox (review)

A few weeks ago I was the recipient of a new voxbox from Influenster.  Influenster is a company that sends boxes out randomly to individuals based on presurveys.  In these boxes are anywhere from one product to several.  Your job if you receive one is to discover, share and review it.

  I received the ZzzQuil VoxBox.

Each box always comes with an information card for the products in the box.  The card provides a brief description of the products if there are a variety of products.

In this box my information card informs me of some key points to keep in mind about ZzzQuil.

ZzzQuil will aid in helping to keep asleep soundly and feel refreshed when you wake up.  It is non-habit forming, and helps you fall asleep in less than 20 minutes.  ZzzQuil is not for pain; just for sleep.

My voxbox of course included the product.  I will say this is the smallest voxbox I have received but it's still an experience nonetheless.

The sample box contained 2 liquid capsules and a coupon for $2.00 off a future purchase.  After all when you find a good product isn't it nice and convenient to save money on the next purchase?

Overall the liquid capsules are easy to swallow.  Two pills are one dose for 24 hours.  A quiet, calm environment helps in the winding down process to get to sleep.  Going to bed early and allowing the winding down and plenty of time to sleep made for an easier wake up as well.

I received this product for free for my honest review and all opinions are my own.

Gillette Venus Swirl review

It is almost summer time!  Although I shave year round I do it more consistently in the warmer months for many reasons.  One reason being summer, summer means heat and heat means water and water means bathing suit!

I have a few requirements for a good razor.  A great handle for grip and control, moisturizing blades and a clean, smooth cut.
The Gillette Venus Swirl matches in all areas.  the handle is a nice solid comfortable handle.  The handle is covered in both texture and smooth surfaces in all the right places to hold the razor.  The flexiball is just a bonus it adds a more helpful component in reaching surfaces that are not flat.  The slight curve of the flexiball allows the razor to glide over my knees, muscles and under my arms with single swipes instead of multiple swipes and changing my position or angle.

Although I tend to use my razors well after the moisture strip is gone.  I appreciate a good moisture strip when I am able to use it!  I believe that first contact with the strip when shaving helps soften that skin!

A clean and smooth shave can only be accomplished with a good razor and blades.  I have found that the more blades the better.  This Gillette has five blades with precision shaving power.

I am completely satisfied with Gillette Venus Swirl razors.  The razor meets my expectations of what a razor needs to be! I was provided this product complimentary by Influenster for review purposes and all opinions are my own.

Country Crock (review)

A few weeks ago I received a new voxbox from Influenster.  This package was for Country Crock spread.  In this package was a coupon to make my own purchase be it a tub or sticks of the spread.  Also included was a recipe card to create my own cookies with a basic recipe.  I choose the tub.

I have baked with sticks in the past but choose to make my cookies with the spread.  Not hard at all. I scooped out the appropriate measurements and added it to my mixing bowl.  I was elated with the ease of using the spread.

The convenience of using the spread allows me now the privilege of making one purchase for future baking or giving me an alternative to using sticks.

Country Crock didn't fail me in flavor either.  The flavor was still there in every bite of the cookies as much as it is on a slice of toast or as an add-in for some vegetables.

Country Crock comes in 3 flavors in addition to the original: churn style, light and calcium.  I prefer tubs because I like to be able to put the top back on it and it sits in the fridge taking up minimal space but I can also stack things on it as well.  Sometimes my sticks have been known to jump out off that fridge door.  Also being able to recycle or reuse the tubs is a bonus.

I was provided this product for review purposes and all opinions are my own.

Cookie Time

Everyone has a weakness.  Mine just happens to be all things dessert.  Dessert is the reason I work out (worked out still nursing that foot).  Dessert in my opinion is what makes the world go round.   What are two dessert that you can make together to make something even better?

Ice cream and cookies! I made a delicious ice cream cookie and saved myself the cookie baking and took my ice cream to a higher level by making it healthy.

I choose to make banana ice cream.  It's something I have done before and everyone here enjoys it.  This time we added peanut butter and vanilla.

Throw your bananas into the food processor.

Look what happens when you blend frozen bananas.  It turns into a delicious, creamy ice cream!

Enter cookie to compliment the ice cream.  I choose a Biscoff cookie.  I received them in my #JingleVoxBox free from +Influenster

These cookies came in a package as a pair.  That makes a great sandwich for my ice cream cookie.  They have a nice cinnamon flavor and nice crisp crunch to go with it.  The perfect combination of sweet and crunch.  Hmm, how convenient.

Don't mind that crack.  It's driving me up the wall but, I will tell you that it didn't compromise the taste at all.

This coffee biscuit has now just been promoted to a dessert with a healthy twist!

Recipe:

2 bananas frozen
Splash of vanilla extract
2 tablespoons peanut butter
2 Biscoff cookies

Put everything in a food processor and blend together.  Smear a nice dallop of ice cream onto one cookie.  Place the other cookie side on top of the icecream covered cookie and place in freezer.  Freeze until ice cream solidifies.  Enjoy!

Simple Lashes

I recently received a Kiss brand pair of natural plump eyelashes in my Jingle VoxBox from Influenster.

I was excited at the opportunity this brought me but also a level of anticipation rose in me as with this challenge came the task of not only putting them on but to take pictures, review the product and discuss the process.  This would make only the second time I actually attempted to put these on.

Well I am always up for a challenge.  So game on.  I must tell you that the last time I tried to put them on I didn't find the process easy and was really quite clumsy.  However thankfully this time around it was as if I was almost a pro.  Probably not but definitely closer.  I was aware of the process and prepared to take on the challenge.

I had all that I needed to make this a successful challenge!

                  Eyelashes- check!

Eyelash adhesive - check!

There is actually nothing to it. Measure it against your eye lid and clip it if it's too long.

Apply a thin line of adhesive to your eyelash line and apply the eyelash.

Allow a few seconds to dry then apply your makeup accordingly.

Viola! Eyelashes in a flash!  I choose not to add mascara but that's always an option.  However these lashes blended in with my natural ones and I didn't think it needed any additional touches.

So next time you want to add a little flare in the makeup department pickup a pair of false eyelashes and some adhesive and bring your eyes to life.

Jingle VoxBox (unboxed)

I recently received another VoxBox by Influenster and I am excited to show you the products I received in this box.  This box as all boxes has its own unique name.  This one is the Jingle VoxBox.  The initial release date was late December and I received mine a few days ago.

Each box contains a variety of items and sometimes you know all but one item; which is exciting!  The items may be beauty related such as makeup, or nailpolish or various food items.  I have received snacks, soup, foundation and other items.  It's always fun to get the box and explore it's contents.  Some items you may be aware of and others this is an introduction .

This box; my first box of 2016 was a box with a little bit of everything!

Look at her!  Isn't she cute?  This is Rapunzel.  She is an Itty Bitty. She retails for $6.95 and is available for purchase at Hallmark Gold Crown stores and Hallmark.com.

Deja Vu is this stunning blue with a slight shimmer.  This color is from the Pure Ice brand nailpolish priced at $1.97 at Walmart stores.

A brown eyeliner with 24 hour color from NYC city!  This eyeliner is also waterproof!  This eyeliner has a retail value of $3.99.

Lashes, a beautiful pair of 100% real hair.  Kiss brand eyelashes have tapered ends which makes blending in with your natural lashes a more natural look.  Pick up a set of these lashes for $3.99.

You can't have eyelashes without a little support.  A good pair of eyelashes needs a good adhesive.  This Kiss Strip Lash Adhesive comes with Aloe provides a safe, long-lasting glue with the Aloe scent.  The eyelash adhesive retails for $3.99.

Cookies for your coffee break?  Try a Biscoff for a better experience.  This favorite of Europe will cost you $2.99

I do not have the tater tots yet but I do have a free coupon for a package of them.  I can't wait to get them; I already have a meal planned for them next week.  My free coupon saves me $3.99!

Lastly, in my box was a sample size or how about pocket size Cetaphil moisture cream!  This little tub is a nice handy size.  I will try to spare it for as long as I can.  It does provide a nice coverage.  Moisturizing my dry skin without any residue.  It soothes my cracks immediately and makes my hands smooth and comfortable.  The retail for a larger container ranges from $8.99-$15.99

So there you have it all my contents from the Jingle VoxBox.  A nice variety, huh?  You can even sign up to get your own box.  Boxes are shipped out randomly so you never know but don't get discouraged if you don't get one right away just hang in there.  After you do receive a box your word of mouth for those specific brands is greatly appreciated.

Voxbox review (comfort box edition)

As the deadline approaches for reviews, opinions and comments to be completed I wanted to show you what actually came in my comfort Voxbox.

A voxbox is sent from +Influenster  to individuals in order to obtain different views and ideas from a variety of individuals.   A select number of people are selected to participate with different boxes. People are selected based on a variety of demographics.

This is my second physical box after just joining this year.  This box just like the previous one offered a variety of items.  I was not disappointed but intrigued with some items I had never tried before and was fortunate to comment on some I have had before.

This box had a variety of items in it ranging from physical items, coupons to immediately purchase the items or coupons for items to purchase in the future.  One coupon I needed to use immediately to complete tasks was for Ragu.

The rest of the items came in my box and I was able to use or eat them immediately.
I made this soup for lunch.  I even bought some Annies cheddar crackers to go with this delicious tomato soup.
This was another product I was not familiar with.  This bag provides snacks for days of delicious chocolate covered bites of almond popcorn.
Tide brand I have used to wash my clothes but they now offer another alternative.  Dye free and stain release.  Great product if you have sensitive skin.
Fiber Choice! I have heard of fiber and wasn't really familiar with a chewy option.  These gummies are sweet with a hint of citrus flavor and make taking fiber supplements pleasant!

So those are all the goodies from this box.  My comfort voxbox.  I can't wait till I get my next box and too see what it holds.

Feel free to use my link to grab some samples and voice your opinions too.

Ragu for Dinner

You know I post a weekly menu and it hurts me to not be able to eat what I planned.  However this week (although on day 2) is going great so far!  Tonight was Gnocchi!  What makes this Gnocchi even better tonight is the sauce is brought to you by @Ragu!

I had read about it and seen it on all the cooking shows and wanted to try it.  From the first day we had it my family has enjoyed it.

This is a very quick and easy recipe.  I buy my Gnocchi.  I would like to learn to make pasta but that hasn't happened yet so no homemade for me.  You can find it with your other pasta.  But you can also pick some up in the freezer section.

Cook your sauce and Gnocchi for about 10-15 minutes.  I do add some spices for extra flavor. Then add cheese before I pop it in the oven for another 15 minutes.

Usually I make a sauce but it was so convenient and much faster to open up a can of Ragu sauce!  Not to mention Chunky 7 Herb was a fantastic flavor added to this meal.  Anything I made from scratch would never be that flavorful!

Thank you  +Influenster  for the coupon for a free jar of Ragu for review purposes.  All opinions stated are my own.
