Globetrotters Equal Smiles

Globetrotters equal smiles and laughs for the whole family!   A nice Saturday afternoon relaxing in front of a live game was what we needed to start our weekend off right!

The noise and excitement got you motivated but the silliness and antics of the players kept you focused.

My kids have never been to a game and I'm glad I got them to one.  We do enjoy getting out on the weekends for some kind of fun and although they didn't actively participate sometimes it is ok to just sit back and enjoy.

My kids kept their eyes on the game the whole time. The did get a bag of cotton candy but really, really enjoyed the game.     Grab the family and experience the Globetrotters

There is still time to experience the excitement and fun yourself! Save 20% with code USFAM or

Go into the next week with this motto!

Thanks for following us on our adventures!

52 Uncommon Family Adventures and a giveaway

    Where is adventure?

Once you have kids keeping them happy and entertained is part of life.  At least until they get older and think your not cool anymore or find ways to entertain their selves.

I can't keep mine entertained everyday.  Some days I run out of time or fall short of what I really wanted to achieve for the day.  52 Uncommon Family Adventures by Randy Southern makes my idea planning so much easier.

This book has exactly 52 adventures to tackle or complete with your family.  The adventures already planned and that's half the battle.

In the book each adventure has a key.  You will know the time frame, cost, location and love language associated.  Love language is different for everyone and the sooner you know what works for your family and close friends the easier all adventures will be to pull off.

The adventures range from easy such as writing and passing out thank you cards to more intricate ones like the adventure called Something Old.  In Something Old the family tries to recreate an old photo to include: hair and clothes style!

One of the benefits of this book is also the ease of reading it.

My daughter enjoyed looking up adventures and planning for our future entertainment!

We have enjoyed hide and seek so far

as well as pillow fighting!

Each planned adventure includes instructions on how to get ready, the directions specific to that adventure, a time to engage more with specific question and answers providing more thought into the adventure, a devotions section pertaining to a bible story and relatable adventure and lastly language of the day aiming specifically for someone who could appreciate the end result of the adventure more.

Now that you know the ins and outs of this book enter the giveaway here!  Of course your super excited about getting busy with your family right away so pick up your copy here!

I am grateful and thankful to have been given this book for review purposes.  Its a great addition to my home library and its a book we will be able to pick up years from now and continue to appreciate it.  All opinions and comments are based solely on my own experiences.

The Tiny Truths (book review and giveaway)

Once upon a time there was a story.  A story that is not easy to read as a child but, just as important and holds great stories and words of wisdom that a child too should read and hear about.  The Tiny Truths by Joanna Rivard and Tim Penner is that such book.

This book is an easy to read condensed bible for kids.  It offers great and fun illustrations as well as stories we grew up listening to as a child.  This book is over 200 pages in length but includes the Old and New Testament.

What was your favorite story as a child?

The snake and the apple?

The ark?

How big was that fish?

The story of Jesus?

All these stories and more are included in this illustrated bible.  The pictures are so fun and inviting for children.  This bible was an easy read for my child.  She appreciates being able to grab a book, find a corner and read to herself.  She also loves when she hears a familiar story at church; one that's shes already read or is familiar with.

Now is your chance for this book to become part of your home collection.  Enter the giveaway here!

I was provided this book complimentary for review purposes and all opinions are my own.

God I Know You're There (book review and giveaway)

I have another great childrens book to share with you!  God I Know You're There by Bonnie Rickner Jensen.  This book was such a cute book!  I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.  The pictures were adorable and the words simple and touching.

With the turn of each page the picture was brought to life by the words describing the presence of God.

Gods presence can be seen and felt throughout all the aspects of nature.  A rainbow, the wind and even the rain.  This story allows the imagination to see that God is by your side regardless of the day, weather or season.

Learning about God and following him is hard when you can't see him nor understand the concept but this book is a nice stepping stone.

Now is your chance to try your luck at winning a copy for yourself! Enter the giveaway here!

I enjoyed the words on each page as much as the pictures.  This book overall was one of my favorites.  Its such a fun and relaxed read.  Younger kids can understand the points on each page and its easy to translate for kids if they have questions.  This is an easy read board book. Beginner readers can read this book

I received this book complimentary for review purposes.  All comments and opinions are my own.

How Do You Say Goodnight? (book review and giveaway)

I'm back with another kids book review.  This book is perfect for the younger kids.  Tonight's book is How do you Say Goodnight?  This book is a fun journey following a young zebra named Zoey as she checks out how her other animal friends say goodnight.

She stops and observes the nighttime routine of various animals.  How do elephants say goodnight, lions or even monkeys?

Do they pray, give thanks or brush their teeth?  This book is great because just like us we all have a different routine.  Baths, stories, and prayer time are only part of a goodnight ritual as Zoey learns.  She also accepts that all of them are equally nice and hers is just fine too.

How do you say goodnight? How do you praise or pray before bed?

This board book offers little hands a great grip and the illustration is so fun.  I enjoy animals and to incorporate them into a book about bedtime routines is something anyone can relate to.

Here's a chance to add this book to your home library.  Checkout the giveaway here!

This was another great book.  My kids enjoyed the book and it's easy to follow along.  A great book to start a conversation leading into dedicating a  few minutes to God every night.

A Good Read with a Sequin Sparkle and Change Bible (review)

Sometimes when you find a good thing, it's hard to improve.  Take for example the bible.  The story never changes and it doesn't need to but,  now the cover is fair game.

This cover is the perfect invitation.  You want to flip the sequins but, you want to dig into the various stories too.

Check out this link because there are two different covers to choose from! https://youtu.be/kC4VFPhZqvU

This bible is easy to read and follow as the font is large!  Easy fun pages to engage the child as they read.

This bible is great quality.  The hard cover will keep those pages safe. My daughter enjoys it because she is spending more time with her bible and likes the modern trend of sequins on it.

Its definitely a show stopper.  No one in her class at church has this bible which makes it extra fun. However you can try your luck with the giveaway and bring a little sparkle and change to your child's bible study time.

The Cow Said Neigh! A Farm Story (book review)

I know your looking for a fun new book to share with your kids!  I have just read and shared with a few of my little friends The Cow Said Neigh!  A Farm Story by Rory Feek!  This is the book you have been looking for to add to your childrens collection.

The animals on the farm all seem to envy other animals and to take on the appreciation and admiration they speak the appropriate voice of said animal!

This book became a quick favorite here!  The storyline is so fun and easy to follow it's a great book for younger kids to enjoy as well as early elementary.

After a few animals have said the wrong noise you will have the attention of everyone.  The illustration was bold and fun.  The colored pages keep the story engaging.

My kids enjoyed this book and are so excited to share the giveaway link with you here!

Of course everyone can't be a winner so after you purchase your own copy print some of these color pages!

As always thank you for reading my review.  This copy was provided to me complimentary but all opinions and comments are solely my own.

Family Fun (Plants)

I don't know if spring is only here because the calendar said so or not.  By the way the weather is acting it's definitely not a confirmation.  I heard today on the new Punxsutawney is wanted.

Apparently people are fed up with the lies!   With a few more days of a threat of snow this weekend I have decided to start pretending spring was here with a little bit of planting.

If spring won't come to us we will do it our ourselves.

Some of my perennials are coming up so I know winter is almost over.  This pot has some Hostas.

I will clean it out after the snow is gone.  Until then I will keep the debris for extra warmth.

We planted a variety of flowers.

So now we will sit and watch them grow!

Next we will maybe plant some veggies!  I did plant some parsley for the butterflies and found some milkweed I'll need to plant as well.

Have you started planting flowers?  Do you plant flowers or buy them. I will buy a few plants as I can't grow everything and I like all the colors.

Tasting Thursday (coconut chips)

Back with another tasting today.  My daughter has grown to like this activity.  She asks what the treat is for the week and reminds me when Thursday is coming up.

I picked up another treat from Dollar Tree.  It's not that I frequent the store that often; it's just luck of the draw when I remember to grab something.

I brought up the idea of sampling all the food in the produce section but, she didn't like that idea.

Today we sampled Coconut!  I have used coconut in baking so it's a taste the kids have had.  It's hit or miss depending on how it's used.

These coconut chips were purchased for $1.00.  These coconut chips are by the brand Real Coco.  I bought the original flavor but am interested in what else is available. The bag was 1.43 oz and it was filled!  Might I add it was filled with a lot of air so definitely packed for safety. Plus if you like coconut the smell is amazing.

These little chips are crunchy to be expected but, the flavor is 100% coconut.  The chips sizes vary.  These are not the same size as a potato chips. They are more like shavings but each piece is delicious.

Check out the stats!

Did you know coconut is a good source of fiber?

My kids actually liked this snack. YEAH for their approval! They ate this straight from the bag but, think of the endless possibilities of snacking.  You could sprinkle these on anything or blend them into things. This is  definitely something we will buy again!

What have you snacked on this week? Have you tried anything new?
