Wednesday Wishes

Wish List

I'm going to start a Wednesday wish list.  Because there are a few things in my life that I think I want or need and you guys will help me either by confirming it's a want (I have made it this long) or a need (can't imagine life before you got it).

Disclosure:  All pictures were taken from Amazon but they are not affiliate links they are for reference only.

Kitchen

1. Air Fryer:  I hear how good this cooks but is it really necessary?

2.  Mandolin: I only ever hear about slicing my finger off but, I like the slicers with the container on the bottom that collects the food.

3. Dutch oven:  Do I need a large pot?  I have a tall soup pot.

4. Keurig:  I actually have a Keurig but it is a R-cup (yes that's a real thing; look it up).  Any coffee I drink comes from a restaurant or store.

When I make my wish list I'm going to keep it short and sweet!  If you can't comment on what I listed I would love to hear what item is your must have in the kitchen.

Watch Ya Mouth Game Review

A family plays games to have fun.  They play games not to win or pass the time but to enjoy each others company.  A family plays Watch Ya Mouth Throw down version to entertain themselves and maybe drool a bit.

This family game is a newer version of Watch Ya Mouth.  It still has made the 2017 toy of the year which should tell you something.  If that's all I had to say pick up your game now with this 15% discount using this code: 15THROWDOWN. It's available here!

Four of us with an audience played the game the other day and had a blast.  So much so it was talked about before bed and then the next morning over breakfast! It wasn't about winner or losers it was about the fun and laughs we had.

This game got us all looking silly together so that evens the self conscious part.  Age didn't really matter except for some tasks required on the cards.  Otherwise this game easily makes playing a game just about the game.  There is a winner after 4 rounds by declaring he who has the most cards wins but it was never about that at least for us.

Now let's get serious about the game!  The game states it's for ages 8 and up.  There are cards to read and tasks to complete.  My son utilized grandma who was watching us to tell him what the card said. Problem solved.  The game comes with various other props you may be called upon to use. Some easy items you may also need to supply yourself.

Wash the appropriate items that will be make mouth contact, read the directions designate who starts based on hygiene and begin!

Nothing is ever not a race.  You not only have a mouthpiece in but, you also get timed!

Secrets had to be shared but, if you guessed it you got the card!

We even had to phone a friend! No one won that one.

Pens not included!

Water transfer was very interesting and our last highlight of the night!

I believe with certainty that this 2017 game of the year was the right decision.  I have never had so much fun playing a game before. It was nice to play game that everyone could play and wasn't too mature for young kids to play and to "cool" for older kids to play.

I was provided this game complimentary for review purposes but all experiences, opinions and fun were my own!

Let's Play Ball (review)

You never know when you will need a ball pump.  Having numerous kids means I have plenty of balls laying around my house.  It's not only frugal to fill your own balls versus buying new one. Pumping up a ball is not as hard as you may think or atleast what I thought.

This pump comes with 3 needles and adaptive parts for various sized balls and valves. This pump is also light weight making it portable for ball games or trips to the park.

I was provided this product for free for my honest review and all opinions are my own.

Extraordinary Ordinary Moments (book review)

Its not a book. Its not a journal.  Its a memory keepsake.  This is not your ordinary book; it's beyond the boundaries of a journal of memories.  Page after page challenges you to recognize special moments of your day/life.

This journal is not about documenting your day to day activities.  It's about recognizing moments that are once and a lifetime or extra special at that particular time and place.

The book is filled with prompts to help you savor the memories for later remembrance.  One page telling you to document something embarrassing, another instructing you to showcase what makes you stronger.

This is a book you will keep for a long time or maybe even pass down and share with your kids.  Hey, you could even purchase multiple books and gift them to your kids to journal their own experiences.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

Diet Trend (review)

Trying out the trend of meal replacement.  I work out somewhat regularly but never add the additional supplements, proteins or vitamins to my daily routine.  However due to a clearance at our local box store I am trying them out.

I picked up 3 flavors: strawberry, chocolate and vanilla.  Each box is for a 14 day supply.  The strawberry and vanilla drinks provide 16 grams of protein and are 130 calories, chocolate drink is 17 grams of protein and 130 calories.  All of them do have 3 grams of sugar and a fiber content of 3- 4 grams.  All drinks do contain milk.

Your option is to either blend the mix with milk or water and ice.  For my first drink I choose water to blend with the chocolate.  Might as well try with the basics and fluff it up with milk next!

Day 1 done.  I choose to drink it in place of dinner.  The directions state to add 8-12 oz of liquid.  After its blended it makes about 4 cups.  The mixture is a thick consistency like a milkshake.  The first cup was pretty hard to chug down.  I didn't like the smell and it doesn't exactly taste good.  It does have a hint of chocolate flavor and of course is the right color but it is not a glass of chocolate milk.

The second glass seemed to be easier to drink and even tasted good mid way through surprisingly.  I did feel full.  I have had some small releases of gas via burps which I know is from the drink but nothing to uncomfortable or annoying.

Well day 1 is done I am interested to see what the results will be after a few weeks.  I will continue to work out, eat healthy and just replace one meal.  The had part will be which meal.  I keep thinking ahead of what meal I could lose out on.  Breakfast could mean anything from a bowl of cereal, waffles or muffins.  Lunch and dinner could be anything and then a dessert could be involved in one of those as well as interrupted snacks.  This will be an interesting journey.
