Ipsy Bag Review (March)

A new month means a new bag! Boy Ipsy really brought it this month.  I love the create your own bag this month.  What a fun way for us all to get a little creative.  When your supplied with a canvas and markers you feel compelled to get busy.

Now lets check out what was in my bag this month.

First up a little bit of lip care!

This balm by Glossier is a tube full of fun and efficiency.  I received the coconut flavor but other flavors include: mint, original and Rose.  The scent is awesome and I love how smooth it makes my lips.

Surprise there's an eyeliner in my bag.  I need to count all the eyeliners I have gotten since I started this subscription.

This sex kitten eyeliner by Tarte is in the shade of black.  It's a nice little pencil.  Providing the perfect grip for eye lining perfection.  I like to think Ipsy is trying to help me perfect that cat's eye.  Maybe it's not me but, the right eyeliner hasn't been given to me yet. Or maybe practice makes perfect.

 Does your lotion inspire you?

Words speak a thousand words.  Meet solutions for stressed skin.  This is Pure Cloud Cream by Skyn Iceland.    I don't care for the scent but, I like the light weight lotion. It's easy to rub in, absorbs immediately and is not greasy!

After you have taken care of your lips with that balm it's time to make them pop.

Apply some Unspoken lip veneer cream gloss by Kokie Cosmetics to do the trick.  I haven't tried this yet but, one claim is its not sticky!

There's always an occasion for gold!

My last item was this eyeshadow by Hikari.  This cream pigment is a gorgeous color that holds the color solid.  This shade is shine! With all the rain and cold weather I think this is the perfect shade to warm things up!

Each Ipsy bag comes with 5 products based on the answers to the profile questions.  I appreciate all products I get because it's usually a brand I have never tried. With these samples it's the perfect size to try it a few times and decide on a future purchase.

This is the best $10 I can spend every month.  A little treat for myself.  Something to pamper myself with.  A product to give me some me time with.  Makeup can be a guilty pleasure right?

August Ipsy Bag Review

My August Ipsy beauty bag was all about the wild and free.  Again each bag comes with 5 items based on your beauty profile and reviews from previous bags.  The monthly subscription is $10 and includes shipping.  Each month the products received can range from skin, health, or nail care as well as makeup.

Shimmer Bronzer in Flush by Hikari

I have not used this product yet but am excited to play around.  It can be used from highlighting to contour.  One color or a combination of all.  It can even be used as an eyeshadow.

Excessive Lash mascara by Make Up For Ever
This mascara comes in black.  I also have not opened this product yet but, I read that it has both hard and soft bristles which allows for a batter application.

Liquid Waterproof Liner in Coal by Seraphine Botanicals
I like liquid eyeliner and am still practicing those fancy lines!  Liquid liner always seems brighter to me.  Waterproof is always a win for me as well.

Romantic Rose Blending Brush by Glamour Dolls
This brush will go perfectly with my 1st product the bronzer.  Small tip for better around the eye coverage.  I like the rose gold color and it's got a nice comfortable grip.

Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay by First Aid Beauty
This cleanser works nicely.  My face felt cleaner after I used it. Not dried out was a plus.  It is red in color.  The cleanser has a gel look but a smooth texture not sticky.  It does have a chemical smell but, it didn't bother my face.

That's a look at my August Ipsy bag.  Now to get reviewing my September bag!  When you review you receive points toward future purchases and the reviews also play a part in consideration of your next bag.

Feel free to use my link to start your own Ipsy subscription.

Do you know how many monthly subscriptions are out there? What's your favorite? Whether it's makeup or other I would like to know.

July Ipsy Bag (review)

Before my August bag gets here let's look at what was in my July Ipsy bag.  Ipsy is a monthly subscription bag I receive every month for $10 a month with free shipping.  In your bag you receive 5 products slightly catered to you based on a survey you complete.  The survey questions range from skin tone inquiry, to favorite makeup color for eyes and lips.  There are even questions about skincare.  After you answer these questions they are put into consideration for the next upcoming box.  I just updated mine today and unchecked brushes. I got a different brush everytime.

My favorite thing about Ipsy is the bags.  I'm not going to lie.  They change every month and sometimes they are so fun.  This month features Gudetama AKA the sleepy egg. He represented the lazy vibes of August.  This bag was so cute even the zipper tag was a speech bubble that said, "meh....".

My August brush was by So Susan. This blender brush will be put to good use if not by me then the the teen.

Rainforest of the Sea deep dive cleansing gel by Tarte.  This is a pretty little purple bottle.  It is a 0.25 fl oz sample or perfect for travel size.  Smells great and is very soothing.  You lather up the gel then rinse of for a cleaner face and makeup removal.

Next up Wonderwand gel kohl liner by Ciate London in black! Liner one side and brush on the other end.  I can't wait to use this!

Ultra lip moisturizing herbal lip balm by Hempz.  The scent wasn't spectacular but, it didn't make my lips smooth and soft.

Lastly was pressed eyeshadow by Mprincess in the shade called biscuit.

So there's my 5 items for the month if July.  August is in the mail already and because you can see what's in the bag already I can see my new brush coming!! Since I updated late I may not have one in September!

If your looking to try out Ipsy for yourself or to give as a gift to your teen feel free to use my link here.

January Ipsy Bag review

I just got my new Ipsy bag for Jan.  The first of my 2017 subscription.  It still came with the 5 items that I have come to look forward to and it didn't have a brush this time.  I would need to go back and look but I swear a majority of the bags had a brush of some kind.

Item one in my bag was Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination by It Cosmetics.  My shade was tan.

This sample is a small tube that boasts the power of 8 hours of sleep in an application.  Also with its anti-aging formula your skin will look younger!

Item number two was a 3 minute peel by Real Chemistry.

This sample was .35 FL oz. tube.  Apply the peel to your face, massage for a couple minutes then rinse off. How easy is that for a fresh and clean face?

Next I received eyeshadow from Naked Cosmetics.

This shade is Desert Sunset #DE-02.  Its a copper color with a sparkle to it.  This container was .05oz.

My fourth item was a primer by Temptu.

This sample bottle was 7.5ml.  I like this primer as it was really light on my face.

Last item in my Jan Ipsy bag was blush by Mannakadar Beauty.

This great little compact samples shade was Paradise.

Another month done.  Another satisfied month.  I enjoyed this subscription last year and will continue with it this year!  It gives me a chance to experience with brands I many not have or ever would have tried.  I like the different items that I may have overlooked as well.  A new bag every month not only provides me a new cute bag there are endless possibilities for what's inside.

Do you subscribe to a monthly subscription?  Would would you like in a subscription if you picked one?

November Ipsy Bag (review)

The November bag is titled rockstarlet!  This bag is a navy blue bag with a star ipsy zipper tag!  I received 5 items in my bag.

First up is OFRA cosmetic laboratories banana highlighting powder.

Net wt: 0.14 oz

I am not real familiar with highlighting so this will be interesting experimenting.

Next product was Pūr-lisse Blue Lotus Prevent balancing moisturizer.

Net wt: .5oz

This cream is for normal to dry to sensitive skin.  Perfect for under makeup and aids in fine line prevention.  It has a pleasant smell and was easy to blend in without any residue.

A beautiful brush was in my bag this time as I have grown accustomed to.

This SLMissGlam brush was an angled eye W20.  Embellished with some bling on the end!

Mad Lash black mascara by the Balm Cosmetics.

Net wt: 0.08 glad oz.

Lastly, a pop of color for my lips!  Ciaté London Liquid Velvet in Diva shade.

Net wt: 2ml

There  you have it all zipped up in my November Ipsy Rockstarlet bag!

October Ipsy Bag (review)

You know where social media fails?  In the element of surprise.  If your order a monthly subscription you are guaranteed to see it posted on someone elses page before you get yours.  #disappointment I never look on purpose to the spoiler alerts for the contents or the bag!  Luckily this bag when I saw it for the first time was so darn cute that I let the accidentally view of it slide.

Lets take a closer examination of the contents!

The bag is a light color pink with witches, candy corn, vampire teeth, and other Halloween theme pictures.  The bags are my favorite part of the Ipsy subscription and this bag is my favorite!

Look at the keep ghost charm on the zipper.  He is a little smaller then my thumb.  He is all black with heart shape eyes and is a great way to open the bag!

Shade Y445 was my shade.  This ultra HD foundation was by Make Up For Ever does closely resemble my natural skin tone.  I love how Ipsy nails the perfect color without even seeing me in person!  This sample is left my face feeling light with he makeup on.  The bottle had a pump top!

My sample of Dirty Girl by Pur was a 0.5 FL oz tube.  This facial mud mask is detoxifying  with pascalite clay.    Apply this to your face and let it sit for a period of time and wash it off.  It does dry on your face like any other mud mask.  Rinse off and feel the results of a cleaner face!

Vintage eyeshadow by Jessica Liebeskind in the shade of vanilla/espresso.

Fierce Flicks by Ciaté eyeliner number 266 shade black.  This liquid felt tip eyeliner will give you the precision you want.

Lastly is my full size lipstick.  Lets start with the box from Teeez Cosmetics and then the tube itself.  Hello beautiful!  The images are so pretty and pop with character.  The tube is a brilliant gold and clear with more images! My lipstick shade Romantic Red is perfect for the fall!

That's my Ipsy bag for October.  2 more bags for the year and I look forward to what they have in them (and the bags too)!

September Ipsy Bag (review)

After research and discussing with several people I signed up at the beginning of the year for Ipsy.  Ipsy is a monthly subscription that is delivered to your door monthly in a cute reusable bag and with a variety of makeup both samples or full size products.

After you sign up you answer various questions about your beauty favorites, process and routines.  What color are your eyes or hair?  Do you wear nailpolish?  Then decide what kind of look you like or what like you want such as classic, edgy or sporty.  Do you use brushes? Use facial cleanser?  Upon the completion of the survey the wheels are in motion to pack your bag for the shipment of the upcoming month.

The bag arrives with about 5 products.  Each month it changes.  I have received a few brushes but its still a different set of items every month.  Even the colors and shades change monthly if you happen to lipstick or eyeshadow for a couple months in a row.

This powerful priming serum by Onomie was 0.17 FL oz. This serum also works as a radiance booster, and tone corrector.  It smells great and I used it one morning without makeup and you could see tiny flecks of gold.  I think it made me look extra alert and energized with fresh skin.  I would purchase this product and try it as a daily skin routine per the directions as a serum.

Teaser is the shade of eyeshadow I received from Dirty Little Secret.  It was 1.5 grams so daily use will not get very far.  It went on evenly and without any clumping.  The shade was more of a beige color.

This face mask by Nuxe was a .50 oz tube.  Directions indicate to apply and wash off for 10 minutes.  Whereas after that time frame my face felt smooth, soft and refreshed.  This is another great smelling product.

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme at 1.5 grams will give me some super stunning lips that pop for weeks.  I did feel some tingling on my lips that eventually went away.  The lip plumper looks like gloss providing a shine while you wear it.  It looks nice on your lips as just a simple gloss but the softness you feel is undeniable.  I can't say I say or felt plumper but my lips felt great after wearing it so I would purchase this product again just for the lip tingling massage.

Lastly, another great smelling product was some body butter.  I had a .7 oz tub of Inspire by Glow for a cause.  This was thick like body butter and left my skin feeling soft and with a light scent.  There are actually a few more scents and since this one is so nice I would love to try the others.

I am pleased  with what I received in this month's bag and look forward to next month.  Each month $10 is automatically deducted from your account prior to the 1st of month shipment .  You are able to log on early and see what's in your upcoming bag but I hate doing that; I want the surprise if seeing it in person.

If I have convinced you to try out the program sign up now and you should still have time to get the October bag.  I have provided my link for your convenience here.
